Errr MA gawd!!! I am so freaking happy! Bring on the witches too!!
In my experience it is women who wear too much makeup. I have always been fine wearing no makeup or make up depending (I always fix my eyebrows though they are crazy!) And it’s never been an issue at any job. The last few years almost no one bothered.
I completelyget the mediation aspect. it’s like that for me too. If I’m not taking the time to care for myself, I’m probably letting other things slide too. it’s all connected for me.
Personally I like the “mindlessness” part. It relaxes me, I always look my best when I’m at my worst tbh.
But aren’t their “mortal sins” or whatever that are unforgivable? or at least not be forgivable by regular priests?
Tbf this also applie’s to nurses, doctors and catholic men and women who use birth control of any kind.
Right? He is still Catholic afterall.
Me too. I mean if your Catholic and you believe these things this is a very positive thing (and still progressive) and a necessary thing. Like he is the Pope what do you want from him? He can’t just scrub the rules out and start again.
Well we will just have to agree to disagree.
I don’t think the letter was well written. But she didn’t accuse anyone of lying and the case referenced was a miscarriage of justice for both the victim and the individual who was wrongly convicted and spent his life in prison. Which is exactly why it is important to have transparent investigations.
So she should only speak up for some people and shut her mouth when it might ruffle feathers? GotchaThere is NOTHING wrong with investigating these types of crimes. She has should up for women ALWAYS and she (and the other individuals who signed this letter) have legitimate concerns.
My comment didn’t address this case at all. It was simply regarding why cause matters in Canada.
I don’t know how that works tbh. Can you report someone’s assault? Should it be the choice of the victim? I have certainly encouraged women to report but ultimately they should be able to decide. They should absolutely cooperate but I am not sure what the best course of action is tbh.
Case of what? AssAult? Harassment? Bullying? I don’t give a darn about his job but I do care about properly and thoroughly investigating abuses of power in public institutions whether they be by teachers or the administration. And if he is guilty they should bloody well admit it.
He wasn’t fired for sexual harassment/assault though. The cause was “breach of trust”. So I would like to know what that means personally. If it is sexual assault or harassment why should we be okay with the University minimizing it?
It’s a public institution, that receives government funding.
Yes you do. Onice the job is yours you cant be fired without fair compensation unless it’s for cause. You have to prove cause or pay them out.
Thank you!!!! I have often thought of how I could articulate this exact statement without getting my head ripped off. This is perfect.
Yes but if you do not have cause you need to be compensated. Usually 2 weeks/year plus vacation plus benefits and maybe pension as well. I don’t know what his contract looked like but if he was somewhere for say 10 years that is a lot of money. So having “cause” could be very important.
