I think they have a unique design language. This car looks closely related to the 2015 Genesis Sedan from which the 2015 Sonata also takes styling cues. The 2015 Genesis Sedan set the tone for what to expect and you’ll see elements of the design in lower end and higher end Hyundai products. The new redesigned Equus

What you’re saying is you can’t figure out what it looks like which means the designers did a great job.

I traded my 2007 BMW 530i for a 2010 Hyundai Genesis V8 and couldn’t have been happier.

I’m riding in a 2010 Genesis Sedan V8 and it looks great 5 years later. The change in appearance of a car over time is more of a function of its owner than the car itself. If you take care of your cars, they will look great.

LOL

Of course not, there are numerous outstanding products out there on the market from many makes. Hyundai has definitely been one of the most impressive over the past 10 years but I have no brand loyalty. I’ve bought cars from American, Japanese, German and Korean makes over the years without fear of experimentation.

You don’t need to go too deep to evaluate a design fairly. I see the near decade old grille, I see that they simply removed the cross bar and placed it more upright so meet Euro crash standards (this is why you see upright grills on so many cars).

I don’t think Hyundai’s design process is lazy or unusual. They have brilliant designers and engineers on board (including top folks from Audi, Bentley and BMW M) who know what they are doing. They aren’t putting together cars from left over pieces but designing original modern cars that happen to share modern design

Can’t do. A lot of people seem to think Hyundai started using Hexagonal grills with the 2015 Genesis Sedan but they have been evolving the design for almost a decade now.

It’s the same grille, simply with the cross bar removed. It’s an evolution of what is now a 7 year old design. They have used a hexagonal grille on pretty much all of their products over the years, starting with the 2009 Tucson.

This is how you know the critics don’t know what they are talking about. When 20 of you can’t even decide on what car its copying from (apparently 20 other cars) I think its safe to say that Hyundai has won. In your comment alone you reference 6 other makes.

Look man, the guy said they’re great. If you’re not happy with that answer go and climb into something with less utility.

I’m speaking directly against white racism. Poor whites have suffered enough.

Here is where it all began back in 2008:

It’s not new. They have had that hex grille since 2008 (at least):

Brain storming what? Racism, stupidity or both?

Not even close. Not to mention Hyundai has had the hexagonal grille since the 2008 HED-5 concept:

Imitation of what? It looks original and in line with the 2015 Genesis Sedan.

I’d question the opinion of some kid at a liquor store.

I think they look great but just like white shirts of any kind, I simply wont ever wear them for fear of planting a big stain the very first day.
