Used car market is nuts. I got my 2012 G37 sedan appraised through CarMax back in January for $7k. Didn’t end up buying then, so I held on to it.  Got it appraised through CarMax again last week (albeit a different location) for $9.5k. Was a pleasant surprise and a nice increase on my down payment for a TourX.

My trick was to just have a good center channel speaker and embrace the loud booms. I didn’t really have much trouble with the dialogue, but I also had the house to myself and new speakers I was looking to christen. I imagine I would have been all over the volume controls throughout if I was watching on built-in TV

For wall mounted TVs (or other wall mounted things that need power), I’m a big proponent of “power bridge” solutions. It’s against code to just drop a power cord down inside of a wall, and these are a great work around. Still require you to cut some holes in your drywall, but in the end it’s a very tidy install.

1st gear: I finally watched Long Way Up and it made me care about a Harley Davidson for the first time in ages (maybe ever?). From the sound of it though, that’s kind of the opposite of what influenced their recent positive results.

You trying to tell me Senna wouldn’t have been able to finesse a chonky steering wheel?

As a parent of a toddler, color of swimsuit from a safety perspective has never even occurred to me. Guess I’ll be favoring those neon colors a bit more next time I’m in the market for swim trunks. Thanks!

Brace yourself. The outrage is coming shortly.

Kind of a minor one (especially in the grand scheme of Atlanta), and there’s probably a logical reason, but it’s always bothered me: Going north through the city, I85 and I75 split in the opposite direction one would expect.

One of the middle episode of Mandalorian S1 had major Battle of Endor/Caravan of Courage vibes.  I really like how the show progressed, but some of those S1 episodes were slogs.

Wasn’t a fan. Despite living in relatively close proximity to a lot of my friends, they were never on my same route. My bus drivers always seemed to either be mean and strict or completely indifferent (never in between). Our buses were overcrowded, and often had us sitting 3 to a seat. Then in middle school I joined

My wife brought car naming to my life (never used to do it before she came along). Since we’ve been together she’s named our cars:

What’s Laurel like? I’ve never been there but it kind of fascinates me. From early on in the show I wondered how this small Mississippi town has enough people moving there and doing major renovations to support an HGTV series.  It kind of felt like one of those British murder mystery shows that takes place in some

I’m new to the projector game, but I’m a big fan of my Epson 3200. I felt like it hit the sweet spot of cost for performance. It’s pretty much an entry level 4K (albeit pixelshift 4K) projector. It’s 3LCD so you’re not going to have any chance of the rainbow effect that a small subset of DLP users notice. And the

I had LX470 in my head, and was just thinking “a fancy Land Cruiser can’t offroad?”. I see the error in my ways now.

Altimax RT43 are solid all-arounders. They’re probably not going to best the Michelin you were looking at in performance (although they might, depending on which Michelin), but they’re fantastic for the price. Great choice for a Fit.

I’m guessing the tiers here are mostly referring to the quality (or at least perceived quality) and performance of the products.

Once back in college when driving home one night in my old WRX. There was a 30-40ish mile long stretch of I-20 that didn’t have any exits with gas stations. I knew about it, but thought I could make it. Technically I did, but it wasn’t fun. When the needle was getting scary low, I slowed down to 60 or so and cut off

I am a BIG fan of those wheels.

Wait, what? I did not know that, and now I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
