As the parent of a toddler who is currently very into Pixar’s Cars, I don’t go a day without thinking of that linked article. When I saw the last gen vs. current gen in this post, I knew Torch was going to feel a great sense of relief from those new headlights.

The NFL halftime show doesn’t try to cater to the core football fan demographic. The whole point is to try to bring in more and different viewers, not just make the people that are going to be watching the game anyways happier. Or at least that’s always the explanation I’ve heard.

To your point about paying for the halftime show, he’s already an immensely popular and successful artist, so I don’t really think the purpose was to get his name out there. Probably more just to get some unique publicity for his newest album and maybe an upcoming tour or something.

My funniest tidbit about the Weeknd is that his first big hit “I Can’t Feel My Face” (the title alone being a reference to heavy cocaine use) was nominated for Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice award for song of the year. Good times.

Getting a bike to ride off public roads is essentially the only scenario I ever see myself riding. I think riding sounds like a blast, but I’m too risk adverse and have too little trust in average drivers to venture out in something that doesn’t have 4 wheels and seatbelts.
