If we’ve learned anything from Teach For America, it’s that we should be making it much easier to become a teacher at first and firing the bad ones rapidly.

CPS teachers are fucking heroes. It is beyond clear by what they’re specifically asking for that they are doing this for their students, not for themselves. I tutored public school kids in an afterschool program, and holy crap, we need to just poor all of the money into the public school system. They charge me 7c for a plastic bag and sales tax is 10%, even on food, they can find the money.
