DeVos might be the best thing that ever happened in the fight against charters. She’s like a cartoon villain. People are starting to see these charter folks for who they are.

I was really put off by the date rape episode. I kind of can’t believe I kept watching after that. There was a lot in the show that was really good.

Cool, because what’s eventually going to happen is that the charter school laws are going to change so that school districts will be able to deny a charter on the grounds of considering the economic impact, and charters will not be able to appeal to the county and the state the way they do now. The California Charter School Association spent something like $55 million to back losing candidates this year. They lost the Governor’s race and the race for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. I’m not saying the charter sector isn’t strong, but the tides are shifting. The public is on to them.

Libertarians are fine with having no say over how their tax money is spent? Good to know. 

Until they quit scabbing, they will be called scabs. Crossing a picket line is not supposed to be comfortable. Looking out for yourself when other teachers are sacrificing so *you* can have higher wages is not going to make you popular.

This is what you get when you are the fifth largest economy in the world but the 46th state in the country in per-pupil spending. We need Prop 13 reform. 

Funding charter organizations is an investment in breaking the largest labor unions in the country.

...or build more schools and hire more teachers. That seems like what you do when you don’t have enough room in the schools you have.
