The next book in A Song of Ice and Fire (because that’s the name of the book series, not Game of Thrones) is late.

Steven Erikson’s ‘Malazan’ series is 10 books long, and each volume is roughly the equal of Martin’s in page count, and he released them considerably quicker. I’d argue that the series is also much better than Martin’s, but that’s subjective.
