Yes, the 'good old days' wasn't very clean either with open sewers and all of that horse shit everywhere and people with rotten teeth and hair teaming with lice.

When I was a kid (40 years ago) we were in Jasper in the Canadian Rockies and at the top of the gondola ride there were a bunch of marmots and they climbed up on my lap and let me pet them. They were very friendly and not shy at all. Probably due to human presence, but obviously not a new phenomenon.

I didn't like the Mels part either. Could have done without it. In a way it made things worse. Isn't it worse to have had her as a friend only to find out later that she was your daughter?
