@_MARVKO_: Snopes to the rescue:

@HomeroB: What I really appreciated about Sorcerer's Apprentice was that they used traditional Special Effects instead of CGI.

@HomeroB: I really wish that director's had more control over how the trailers for their movies are made. So many times I haven't seen a movie because of a mismatched trailer only to discover that the movie was fantastic (usually io9 clued me in).

Sounds like my favourite scene from Scooby Doo 2 : Cotton Candy Blob...

" It also seems like the US version is dedicating a lot of time building up each character separately, before playing around with the group dynamic."

This is the scariest post title that I have ever seen on io9 - shiver.

@Cinnamoncanuck: Wonderful! I haven't looked at that image in 30 years! You made my day. Time to pull out my old Asterix and Obelix books for the kids.

"special mix of plants known as gruit. Gruit contains yarrow, carrot seeds, mugwort, and henbane - otherwise known as stinking nightshade."

@BioLady: From Wikipedia: "The shell of the pistachio is naturally a beige color, but it is sometimes dyed red or green in commercial pistachios. Originally dye was applied by importers to hide stains on the shells caused when the nuts were picked by hand. Most pistachios are now picked by machine and the shells

I like you I really like you but not enough to join the life suck that is Facebook. I would rather spend my time reading your wonderful reviews and articles right here on io9.

Although I am glad that they no longer dye them pink, we used to have so much fun teasing my husband with his pink mouth and fingers every Christmas.

@o0RaidR0o: This movie wasn't even made to be seen in 3D it is a blatant grab for cash. I will see movies in 3D where it will enhance the experience, I don't think that this is the case with this movie where the 3D is forced after the fact.

"If you're looking for something that's a bit scruffy and off the beaten track, but still full of giant explosions"

For some reason I read it as Severed Hand Parity

I think that all the geek references that we are seeing lately is more about the age of the people in power.

Thanks for the clairification on the European Robin Alasdair. I didn't catch Oxford in the linked article.

What inspired him? This? I don't know which image came first but I love them both.

Pictured is the European Robin (the original Robin Redbreast) after which the American Robin was named.

Would this be a way to show our support for Fringe?
