The EJ25 (and the EZ25 that followed it) were known for head gasket problems to the point that many were replaced preemptively. I wouldn’t say that having had it replaced would be a trouble marker here; indeed, if they had proof it’d been done, I’d call that a plus.

I’m 40 years old and these cars are just too old for me. It’s my dad’s (grandad) car...

If you want a 200 HP 300zx, the N/A version of the Z32 can be bad for this price, albeit in much better shape. Sure, his added maintenance is worth something, but I’d rather not deal with the mess of aging vacuum lines under the hood of a 31 year old turbo v-6 in a notoriously tight engine bay... especially for 200hp.

as long as patrick keeps approving my thinly veiled excuses to write for him again, i’ll keep popping up here <3

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the TC (yeah, I'm weird, fuck off).... I just don't see anyone ever paying over $5k for ANY example of one.

It’s easy to talk oneself into believing that a car that has just had a ton of money poured into it won’t need anymore. I’ve done it many times. It has ALWAYS been wrong. Some cars just suck. This guy has gotten sick of pouring cash into it and knows it needs more, otherwise he’d keep it.

Honestly, this car has aged well (the design, not necessarily this particular example). It looks less garish than say a 97 Mustang.

Really? This car is nearly 25 years old with 200k on the odo. I think anything over $1.5k is robbery.

Nothing is bulletproof over 200k. Rubber and plastic becomes brittle and requires replacing. If you are DIY inclined, replacing a $12 hose, a $5 clip, or a $30 wheel bearing every now and then is nothing. If you arent, that hose becomes $200, that clip is $150, and that wheel bearing is $600 once you include labor. Do

I like this thing, but I don’t five-grand like it.

It hits all the right buttons here in the Age of Radwood, but gut feeling (the only meaningful metric for a unicorn like this) is that fifteen large is too much. What’s the going rate for good ones in Europe lately? Somehow ten seems more reasonable.

Even KBB (~$11,000 in VG condition) says this is Crack Pipe.

WANT the car, but not at that price, so a sad-trombone CP for this one.

Kill it!!!! That grille design must go!

So, the new GTI is going to look boring and I will never be able to have another one in 3-door configuration. Looks like my new-to-me MK7 is gonna be a keeper if the above is what the future looks like for the Golf (GTI).

“It’s a revolution. It’s really a total digital environment...

Golf isn’t mad, Golf is disappointed

“But trying to think of something cooler for $10K.”

Like the car, well presented, and an honest seller. The only reason for CP is pure price. I would not spend 10k on this.

Dude, seriously.. why do you continue to put yourself through this? I admire your desire to give us stuff to read but damn... anyway.. carry on regardless and good luck!
