I’m from the suburbs of Boston. Police worship is extremely common in MA. “Back the blue” stickers are all over the place. I’m zero percent surprised these serious allegations of domestic violence were brushed aside. The Boston police union is about as strong as it is corrupt. People think of MA as some rich liberal…
Boston police and the police union also ignored/covered up for a cop/union president who had raped children. https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/ex-boston-police-union-pres-charged-with-raping-4-more-children/2183771/. Apparently those bad apples have spoiled the barrel.
I suggest a Kickstarter. By which I mean we should start kicking Morrisey and never stop.
As a great admirer of the Smiths and his early solo work, I take no pleasure in saying that yes, Morrissey has demonstrated time and again that he is a racist prick and he deserves to be shunned. Unlike Ellie Kemper, you hacks.
I’m not a true Chicagoan, I suppose, but I’ve lived in the metro area for 16 years, I’ve eaten many hot dogs, and Gold Coast’s are good - I like the char. Steamed hot dogs are boring, give me some nearly burnt bits.
1. Gold Coast Hot Dogs at ORD. I have no dog in the “who makes the best Chicago dog” fight, but Gold Coast makes a good one. 2. Gold Star Chili at CVG. Again, no rooting interest and Cincinnati chili is weird, but when in Rome. 3. Legal Sea Foods at DCA. Being a New Englander, a welcome sight and a guarantee of…
Arrival at the airport is, to me, a sign that vacation is starting
Don’t cover her head, and she looks like a $2,000 sex doll.
I think the key point that should be taken away from this piece is that recordings of original Broadway productions should be provided to the rest of us poor souls. I hate how many amaaaaaaazing plays and musicals and oh-my-god-you-should-have-seen-its I have missed because I don’t live in or near New York, and also…
Yeah, honestly I’m a bit surprised to see how much of a “thing” a backlash to Evan Hansen’s plot has become, at least with certain people online. It feels like you have to work pretty hard to misread the musical’s intentions to truly be offended by it.
As a musical theatre geek, on the other hand, I’ve heard the…
Evan Hansen’s plot is a lot less problematic than Carousel, which we performed at my high school despite it repeatedly waving off and even romanticizing domestic violence.
Stupid kid does a stupid thing, digs himself ever deeper, is pretty standard dramatic fare. Mother and daughter bonding over the fact that a slap…
You seem hung up on people “choosing” to do things and that somehow being a marker for judging them as people, but you don’t seem to recognize that half the point of playing a video game is to have the freedom to safely explore things you wouldn’t do in real life, by doing them virtually.
I had a friend in college who was legitimately 7 feet tall. It gave me an appreciation for how difficult that kind of height can make your life. I remember asking him one time why he drove a pickup truck (I’m into sports cars) and he was like “Uh. It’s the only car I can fit in.” (I felt pretty dumb after that one.)
She’s playing a character that is nearly 10 feet tall, she might be extremely tall already but I can’t blame her for wanting to be a little closer.
Probably in tremendous pain. It goes without saying, but the human body is not meant to function that way. Growth plates are supposed to close.
As Jon Oliver said, “Crush my rib cage, you load bearing behemoth”
Woman on the right: Wow! He’s really tall.
