This is a really good idea, in my opinion.
But why The Vampire Diaries of all things?

Elude also means "to fail to be understood or remembered by (someone)" and "to fail to be achieved by (someone)".
Allude means "to make indirect reference", it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. In any case, it should be "allude to", if I'm not mistaken.
"By giving the former teacher a layer of self-reflection that seems to allude his real life counterpart".
That should be elude, I think.
Apart from that, great episode and really nice review!
OK, but will every character be white or not?
I'm not sure that I got your point, but I think there is a film like that (sort of), and it's called Lilting.
What about Rose, though?
Cool. Also, since TEs have that distinctive dark pattern because of carbon impurities and diamonds are made of pure carbon, it could be a clue to the nature of "corruption".
I guess it could be something like an "infection" of black carbon in the gem (and if that were true it would make Centi an Emerald).
You might want to read Emily Nussbaum's take on this on the New Yorker :)

She introduced me to a whole lot of magnificent TV series and I'm grateful for that.
Kudos EN!
*Magic user note*
Not really true. If you play as a pure magic user (i.e. little to none melee) you will most likely be defenseless, as in no shield, very light armour, low health etc. That alone makes the game a whole lot more difficult, although it's true that ranged attacks can be useful in certain situations.…
The name of Rogelio's telenovela in this episode is La Miseria, or Misery and there's a crazy stalker involved. Got it? *winks*
Actually, this is a fun movie, I think. I saw it some months ago and while it does not achieve anything remotely as engaging as Greenaway's best films (or even Nightwatching, which I found really nice) it's still very light-hearted (even silly) and a fun ride overall. I get where this review comes from, but I think…
Nice. I actually read the book as a kid and really liked it. There are a couple bits where Hugo delves a little too much in historical details, but the plot and characters are great and memorable. The sad ending is kind of ineluctable I guess, but there is some kind of victory in defeat for the protagonists.
Now that…
About Gaga winning over Dunst: fuck me gently with a chainsaw.
I'm actually interested in discussing this further, if you want to.
Why do you think that Michelangelo was a great poet?
PS. I must confess, this is sounds a bit weird to me, in Italy his poetic oeuvre is overlooked at best and barely mentioned in schools.
Not really. Michelangelo was indeed a sonneteer, albeit somewhat mediocre. (Italian is my native tongue and I can assure you that there's a remarkable difference between his poetic output and those of Tasso and Ariosto, say, or even Poliziano).
Great catch AV Club, thanks :)
Dave Brubeck's take on it isn't that bad, actually.
I would probably love some Twilight by Haneke LOL
Any show that manages to use a foursome as a way to depict the emotions of one of his characters simply must be good. Plus, I really can't believe the amount of content the writers can put in a single episode while also avoiding to rush it at all.
I don't think I've ever saw a show so polished in this department.
