How can the government compel a private organization to admit or re-admit someone that they have expelled, for just cause, within the context of that private organization? And why does Duke have to show, in court, that he broke the law before they can take any action against him? This makes no sense to me.

You say "lace peplum" I say "booby waterfalls"

Be warned: I don't want to start a fight about the merits of various economic systems, this is really just my economics-major brain wandering now that I'm checked out at work.

Yes. The thing that makes me crazy is the idea that a standard of cleanliness is gendered. My friend's fiance told her that the house could never, ever, ever get so filthy that he would feel compelled to clean. My SO cleans a ton, but it would never, ever occur to him to clean the cabinets or baseboards. It's not like

I'm hoping we can reach a point where taking care of your basic needs and maintaining a household are ungendered activities, and just part of being, you know, a grown-ass adult, but the persistent masculine resistance to housework is still mindboggling to me. Like guys who proudly proclaim that they can't cook at all

You know what really makes me angry about this? It isn't that these guys are idolizing a killer—there's plenty of sick fucks why idolize murderers of all stripes—its that women STILL can't get the "good" men to believe that hateful misogyny actually exists. They can go and SEE it, and still all I hear is, "Well, he

Boo-fucking-hoo. Want that Wall Street gig? Don't rape anyone. Next!

No, no, no, dude. The expulsion isn't preventing you from getting a job, the sexual misconduct is. The expulsion and inability to get a job are both a repercussion of YOUR actions.

"He says the expulsion has made it impossible for him to start his job at a Wall Street firm, which was offered upon assumption he would graduate from the college."

Oh god, I know. I was just there and had to look this article up on jezebel to cleanse my brain. So many whiney assholes who have no idea (and don't care) how ridiculously difficult it is for women to actually put rapists on actual trial for them to end up in an actual jail, and then use that as proof of why the

Look on the bright side, fuckwad. You aren't doing 8-15 years in a NC State Penitentiary for sexual assault. If you had been sent to prison, you'd get to see rape from the victim's point of view.

How dare this thing with a vagina stand in the way of his job.

Male entitlement strikes again. Expulsion = you don't get your goddamn diploma. At worst he may have raped the woman, at the very least, he violated the sexual misconduct rule at the school. Get over it.

BUT WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE POOR RAPIST BOYS AND HOW THEIR LIVES ARE RUINED?

I'm not sure you understand what I was getting at. The dude in the video talks about how beer commercials show people with beers who we're led to believe are going to have sex later on, and uses this to justify the idea that "it's not rape just because she's drunk." This is so staggeringly obvious (to him, at least)

Well yeah. Maybe don't rape girls if you want a college degree? Good place to start universities.

This fucking guy has no idea about proper research design and methodology. He's mocking the "incoherent" wording of the survey, when it was actually specifically worded that way to get more accurate results.

I know that he's bad at math, but if everything he pretends is "rape" was actually scored by those studies as "rape", the statistic would be A HELL OF A LOT HIGHER THAN 20%. Based on this show's criteria, the statistic should be closer to 80-98.2%.

But basic logic is complicated and common sense is rare.
