This whole scaling back of protected land is so incredibly shortsighted. If such decisions can be rescinded according to the whims of the President, then the protections themselves are meaningless.

Burger King was my first job. You know good fast food when you’ve worked in the kitchens and are still willing to eat there. I still love a whopper. My friend, who worked at Taco Bell, will not even walk into a Taco Bell. And almost more worrisome, he won’t talk about it.

Obviously such behavior is unacceptable. The question becomes whether such an action is so reprehensible that you call for their resignation. His victims aren’t asking for that.

That’s harsh. I don’t condone his behavior and I hope each of these stories causes him pain and embarrassment.

I think he needs to stay. The stories are embarrassing reminders of what is acceptable and what is not. If he resigns the stories stop.

But then you get into the problem of “kids gonna do it anyway”, at least with kids their own age. Hormones. The way I see it, kids can have regrets about things they’ve done with kids their age, because both are dealing with the same behavioral impulse issues. But an adult should be held to a higher standard.

It bothers me that Dems haven’t suggested their own plan. And if they have it really bothers me that I have not seen or heard about it. Even if it was stick with what works, it would be something. If you want to peel away a few Republicans, you could show a different option.

You’re right, but there is the gray area between age of adulthood and statutory rape years.

It’s possible they are trying to sink their own ship, while at the same time be able to say oh well we tried. When the tax cuts looked like they might pass the 50 vote threshold, they inserted the ACA legislation. Not because they’re confident it will pass, but hopeful it will not.
