My comments I linked to with further info aren’t based on this slim article, but info I read yesterday on the whole thing and people’s reaction to Lind’s Instagram announcement...
Why did she delete the post though? Did like the Secret Service threaten her or something?
How do you know he’s only done this in his old age?? And if it is behavior due to dementia, etc, his handlers (and perhaps his wife) should warn any woman who’s going to be in his vicinity so she’s aware of the possible behavior and can decide where she’d like to stand!
I don’t want to get into the messy game of “who’s worst” - but at some point you’re just watering down the justice beer, so to speak. Just counter-productive, especially if he was decent enough to acknowledge and apologize.
The fact that people are minimizing this to the actress (which, I’m assuming, is why she deleted the post) by saying things like “get a grip - he didn’t ‘assault’ you, you’re just wanting attention when all of these other women’s REAL assaults are much worse and you’re taking away from their voices...” etc, etc, is…
I’ve found copy/paste to be a lifesaver these days ;)
I never realised how *right* a black Wonder Woman looks. And weren’t the Amazons meant to be from North Africa?
This comment needs more stars. (Hopefully at least one by The Root staff so it gets featured as well)
Necco Wafers and Twinkies, and you’ll never go hungry no matter how many years you’re stuck underground in the event of a nuclear apocalypse.
Necco Wafers are medicine for a disease that got wiped out in the 1930s.
Yeah - someone in the greys is trying to claim that there wasn’t ever any prejudice against people from Spain (or Central and South America, because... Desi Arnaz or some absurd BS) - ha! It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so infuriating and ignorant. Par for the course these days, though.
Exactly. Now that it’s “ok” to be Latinx people like Cameron Diaz can “claim” it... whereas people like Rita Hayworth - whose father was from Spain and she grew up dancing flamenco - had to change her name, hairline, and complete look to “make it”...
I’m well aware of that - my grandfather is from Spain - and that wasn’t the point I was making at all... (also, see my comment above referencing Margarita Carmen Cansino)
