A harmful truth is better than a useful lie. - Thomas Mann (6 June 1875 – 12 August 1955)

There is no harm in being sometimes wrong - especially if one is promptly found out. - John Maynard Keynes (5 June 1883 – 21 April 1946)

The crisis is under control, I guess. The person may not have torpedoed their relationship (as it seemed in the middle of the night) and is taking steps regarding treatment.

Interesting guess, but incorrect (though Puzzlemaster Will Shortz might take it). My clue about "order and method" brings you right to one of the author's characters.

I spoke to the DUMBASS, who is with the wronged party, trying to fix things. They're also starting a secular recovery program today. Wow!!

Thank you.

Man, now I need to enter using my other email, since I can't go change my answer!

I posted this week's puzzle in this thread. It's literary, and clever.

Next week's challenge: Name a well-known U.S. city with two words in its name. The second word sounds like the last name of a famous 20th-century writer. The first word is something found in virtually every work of this author. What is the city, and who is the author?

My audition was about four months after my online test. My audition was in May. I got the call in September asking if I could come and play at the beginning of November (I was playing on Election Day 2008).

Freddy Fender (June 4, 1937 – October 14, 2006)
Baldemar Huerta named himself after his guitar. I like that in a musician.

Thank you.

I wish I could give this a flower 🌺 like we could on Facebook around Mother's Day.

Thank you.

Flops are a part of life's menu and I've never been a girl to miss out on any of the courses. - Rosalind Russell (June 4, 1907 – November 28, 1976)

Osiris and I were planning to visit my Pop this weekend, but Pop died Wednesday afternoon.
A.L.L., May 15, 1937 - May 31, 2017

My Pop donated his body to science, so his girlfriend will have his ashes later on. He asked they be scattered where his grandparents' farm once was.

Stay behind the velvet rope, Mr. L., we need to see if you got enough prayers.

Thank you. I don't believe in the afterlife, but much of my family are religious.
