I did the same!

Excellent! Added to Comixology wish list. Thank you.

It seems terrific but I'm going to trade-wait. I have great faith in Rucka, I just think - as with Lazarus - he tends toward huge scope, and I have a sense this one might work just as well when read in arcs.

Interesting. Where do you recommend starting on Prophet?

Small plug for a post-Delano Hellblazer story I liked - City of Demons, by Si Spencer and Sean Murphy. I didn't have a lot of context for Constantine when I read it, but I happen to think it holds up.

I thought Fox had the X-titles? (BTW I am now full on rooting for Fox to finally give up on the Fantastic Four rights, because that would likely enable Marvel to take a stab at introducing the Silver Surfer.)

That's pretty much exactly how I'd imagine it working for me too. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

Both great books! I decided to trade-wait Karnak from the start because of Ellis' tendency to do only an arc or two before bouncing (and because I'm just trying to trade-wait more books in general). Vision is just too good to wait on, though. I am, however, waiting on Tom King's other new book, The Sheriff of Babylon,

I've had a pretty similar experience with both writers. I thought his Captain America run (esp. that first arc) was a brilliant way to follow Brubaker's run - that is, to take the book in a completely different direction, because you are not going to out Brubaker Brubaker. But I somehow didn't make time for Remender's

Rocafort did some pretty epic work on Superman too.

How about Ta-Nehisi Coates' Black Panther series for Marvel?

Funnily enough, they're both sort of space westerns, but they're completely different. East of West is a huge story filled with political intrigue and tragic romance; Copperhead is (thus far) a comparatively small-scale and personal story of a woman who's just become sheriff of a backwater town on some alien world.

I keep thinking I'm going to drop Black Science but I don't know, the current arc just pulled me back in. Tried Copperhead or East of West?

I wished I liked his work more than I truly have. I picked up the first issue of Trillium and felt it was sort of ok but gimmicky, never went back. I picked up the first issue of Descender, and I liked it but not enough to stick with, I may read it as a trade. You know what, though - I just remembered, I did kinda

Me too. I guess I enjoyed the Edmondson + Noto run more than some, but I also haven't read a lot of other Widow stories to compare. I did think it was sort of mysterious and moody in ways that made sense for a Widow story, but at times I guess it did seem to be more atmosphere than substance. I suppose I could say the

Good tip, thanks. It's been on my to-read list for a while, it's about time I got to it.

I agree - though he's got two other books I'm approaching a bit more cautiously… I'm still hopeful he's going to do with Karnak what he did with Moon Knight, but I haven't been reading single issues (I'm trade-waiting expecting Ellis to do his one-arc-and-out thing); I'm also not entirely ready to embrace his James

Looking back, I think I had a sort of weird year as a reader. Not bad, but maybe not as in step with others as I used to be.

Yes to this. I think the only thing of his I've liked is/was the Constantine ongoing, but I suspect that has at least as much to do with his co-writer there, Ming Doyle.

Very intrigued by Sheriff of Babylon, I'll be checking that out for sure.
