The only universe where Hemi's are faster than LSX's is the one you created in your head. I think I've seen turbo Buick's win more Outlaw races than Hemi's.

More expensive, heavy, and mechanically inferior to an LSX. Great choice!

But it already comes with a solid rear axle I believe. This will still have the factory IRS.

Why does it handle better than my '11 Z06 with the same size tires, lower treadwear, and a 400lbs weight advantage?

Thats the way I'm leaning. Its going to be hard going from a LS7 to the LT4, and the 400lbs weight gain makes me cringeee. I might wait a few years and buy one used, I don't think the depreciation on mine can get any worse at this point. My biggest fear is these things becoming a Corvette equivalent of a 993 and

Well, the trans is a GM design and the trans controller is made by Eaton so I'm not sure if thats what you meant by third party. Anyway I'm curious other than being slower from the paddle pull-kick in butt sensation than the Porsches and Ferraris you mentioned in what ways did the auto not perform as you intended? I'm

I agree that SMG's and now DCT's have a more immediate feel to the paddle pull-kick in the pants interaction but again, the very small, almost imperceptible difference to most drivers is not worth the added size, weight, and complexity. Surely not enough for many OEM's to invest the money into R&D for them. They cost

That seems to be more of a programming issue then, rather than evidence of an inferior design. Most likely something that can be improved in further models without changing any components. I just have a problem with the people who go "DCT or nothing", "no DCT=no buy from me" etc... The inherent size, weight, and

I'd honestly love to hear it. The literal millisecond shift time difference between the two (which most people and likely yourself cannot discern) is completely negated performance-wise by the extra 50+ lbs that the PDK or any DCT has over the 8L90.

Sure is! It's where I got my first taste of road racing and I've been hooked ever since. And no laughing from me haha. I remember bringing my first car, a 04 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, and plowing through every corner but still loving every second of it. Now me and my dad bring our Z06 Carbon and my Saab, lot less

Usually the track manager divides us into two groups, novice and experienced. Anyone with an open wheel car gets put in a third group. Each group gets about 20-30min depending on how many people show up, and then alternate the groups back and forth. A couple times I've gone theres been so few cars they let everyone go

Great write up. My personal favorite are the test and tune days at Gingerman here in Michigan. Very few people attend and it allows you to mess with the cars setup until you get it justtt right. Also provides some great father son bonding with my pops which is probably what I enjoy the most.

Tyler, that video has been on liveleak for some time. The original description said it was Mig 21 shot down IIRC. That would also explain the lack of flares, these Jordanians aren't exactly amateurs and their Vipers are top notch.

This. They've done study groups on hybrid and EV drivers and the majority don't want to be seen as driving one. The others would like a neon sign that says "HYBRID". They add the grills to placate the former.

The only thing the Charger HC would be comparable to the CTS-V is acceleration with both having 6.47lbs/hp power to weight ratios with a slight advantage to the CTS. Being 430lbs (4,145 vs. 4,575) lighter the CTS will destroy it in terms of dynamics and braking.

When the threats are flying at you, even if there is no concrete data to back up the threats, the fear you experience is just as real as the fear you'd experience facing down a threat you could see. Fear only comes in one flavor.

The problem wasn't heat soak you dunce it was a setting in the ECU that cut timing/power at full throttle during the first 500 miles. Something the owners manual explicitly says NOT to do. C7 Z06 with Z07 runs cool down laps faster than a Viper TA.

It will be at least 300lbs lighter than the Charger HC. 4,300lbs curb weight is a safe bet. Still lighter than M5, E63 AMG, RS6, etc so I don't really get what you mean by overweight.

Those were the new CT6. I could tell you how I know this but then I'd have to kill you. Joking of course, but trust me on this one.

Cheap. Simple. Reliable. Easy to work on. Huge selection of aftermarket components. Lightweight. Compact. Low center of gravity. High power. High torque. Relatively efficient. And the sounddd. Missing anything else? Although I may be partial, I have a 570rwhp LS7, singing through a titanium exhaust w/ no cat/mufflers.
