I wonder what would happen if a person who is actually an alcoholic is diagnosed with this condition. Could they never get sober? That would be a bummer.
If it’s something that came on gradually as she aged and was consistent, she might just think “oh, I’m a bit forgetful around evening time” and not realize it’s actually being drunk.
I agree. Dr: “Well, ma’am the good new is...”
I hope the DA loses the appeal. I think her new medically-required diet is punishment enough!
nah...she actually does have alcohol in her.
I know that often undiagnosed/untreated UTIs can lead to mood changes, especially in the elderly. I wonder how often it’s tested for in non-DUI situations.
I was wondering if she was very young, but it seems she’s at least old enough to be married. It does say that she doesn’t show symptoms of drunkenness until she’s at 0.30 or 0.40, though. If she’s not actually a really heavy drinker and/or doesn’t typically drive after drinking, maybe she hasn’t had symptoms that were…
Over a 6 hour period, based on the article. Even if we’re talking 4 glasses of wine, she could have been at or under the legal limit by then. More importantly than that, there's no way the DA could prove she was above it based on her alcohol consumption because of her condition.
Holy...
Well, she did still have four drinks and get in a car. She's not ENTIRELY blameless here.
Seriously. No more sugar or booze? Lowest of the low carb diet? This woman is getting a life sentence in dietary prison, leave her alone!
Iam confused. She met her husband for food “Between noon and 6 p.m”? Do neither one have jobs? That’s a long lunch... I guess it could’ve been a weekend.
i would save soo much money on wine
Why is the DA trying to appeal the dismissal? This woman has a documented condition. Maybe it's too much Making A Murderer but Jesus Christ can we not just let some innocent people go unscathed by the justice system?
IPA stands for “I Pee Alcohol”?
I know small batch breweries are all the rage these days but this is taking it a bit too far.
Why would the DAs office want to appeal. I mean, it’s not really her fault that she has a rare medical condition that she didn’t know about, and she’s taking steps to treat that condition. And it’s not like anyone was harmed by her accidental intoxication. She wasn’t driving recklessly and wasn’t actually in an…
I wish my body turned food into booze. I could justify all of my poor decisions.
