Yeah. I watched just enough of the fourth movie to see the DIDJA POOT YA NAME IN THA GOBLET OF FIYAH part and, no, just no. That’s not Dumbledore. Seeing the layers of strength and heartbreak behind his gentle demeanor was such a great part of the books.

I don’t know if I read this on Jez somewhere or if it was a real-life friend who said it, but Book Ginny is supposed to be very cheerful and vivacious, which kind of offsets Harry’s angst. Bonnie Wright plays her as kind of angsty and quiet, which just takes them down the black hole of angst. I don’t really fault

So, he’s just been a piece of shit for years now and we're just finding out. Ugh.

UGGH movies Ginny pretty much ruined Ginny for me, and I was totally rooting for them in the books! The movies made the dynamic way...odder.

I am so sad that TV/BBC/HBO/etc figured out that book series are WAY better as TV series so late in the game. Harry Potter would make a perfect high-budget TV series! You’d have a chance to capture the delightful thing about the books, which was the rich cast of characters.

We’re doing this too. We’re on Half Blood Prince and I’m thoroughly pissed off at the writer, director, JK for allowing this and everyone everywhere.

I saw but don’t own the movies. I read & own every book... :)

YES. They dumbed him down so much and made Hermione so shrill.

Just the thought of a 40 hour BBC Harry Potter series gives me life!

I *hate* that they made the twins say almost everything in unison in the movies. Ron’s not as smartly funny as he is in the books either. But, with all that, I still love the first 3 movies.

What. About. Fred.

That's exactly it.

YES YES. A mini series is needed to do the books justice. I only watched the first movie as it was...okay? but I heard it got worse from there

Agreed. There's so much good stuff that they cut out of the books, why add pointless crap? The choir really bothered me too.

I loved the tale of the three brothers!

The movies are pretty bad but I like them anyway for some reason. But I've always said it would make so much more sense as a tv show!

Also, in the movie: Ben and Casey Affleck, Paul Rudd, Kate Hudson, Courtney Love, Dave Chapelle, Janeane Garafolo and Elvis Costello.

I’ll give them another try. I know my dad really enjoyed them when he was deployed, and they got passed around his hospital a lot, so he has the copies.

I love how Voldemort’s fear/hatred of death is bound up in how his mother chose to die than to stay with him. I can’t recall if the movie includes the line about how she couldn’t have been magic or she wouldn’t have died, but getting to see Merope’s life would have, as you said, made him less one-dimensional and more

I just started Order this morning and was reminded how WELL Rowling wrote the way teenagers actually think and act. I’m still on the first chapter and Harry’s frustration and rage just throb off the page.
