I think you are really stretching this one.

The ‘must have two years experience’ thing is insanely annoying. I get that it is expensive to train people, but college degrees don’t automatically come with two years experience on your resume. Everyone has to start somewhere and I feel like a lot of companies lose out on potentially good employees (who they get to

Yes, but all of that is unrelated to his race. Their issues are all related to who each person is/what they’ve been through, not a result of skin color.

Right?

I’m in Maine and the storm missed us entirely. It’s not uncommon- the storms often go out to sea around the Boston area.

The kid in the purple shirt (ETA: Lucas) is so freaking adorable! He has so much attitude.

Obviously not all, but when I was there (2013) I noticed that the majority had significantly smaller gaps than your average US stall.

My car repair shop has this situation as well, and I’ve used the male-designated one about 1/2 the time. I’m not going to stand around and wait for the bathroom when there is a perfectly identical and empty one next door. That’s insane.

yeah, those are lifesavers.

I agree that the urinal situation would be a little uncomfortable for a lot of people. I imagine that if we made the switch, public bathrooms would become stall-only. Most people don’t have urinals in their homes and get by ok.

That was a revelation for me as well. How is it that the UK has figured out how to install proper bathroom stalls but the US hasn’t!!!

This is the other side of this issue! Gender neutral bathrooms are a big deal for parents (what dad hasn’t had to decide whether to let his 4 year old daughter go into the women’s room alone, or take her into the men’s room with him, and vice versa) and for some disabled people. I have a family member of the opposite

It’s interesting you feel that way (genuinely, no snark), because I’ve always thought this was a weird issue because I really don’t give a damn. So long as we can get stalls with walls/doors that actually go down to the floor (like in the UK), I’m a happy camper. I don’t care about washing my hands next to a guy. I do

Male teachers can afford to be ‘cool’, whereas female teachers have to be obviously formal and professional because being female means people automatically think of you as less professional.

Well, he’ll definitely be a werewolf now. A+ parenting. ;)

Right? WTF.

I agree - I suspect it is a strategy. We probably wouldn’t have heard about this if they hadn’t been arrested. Good for them!

This is easily the best thing I’ve seen all day. Thank you.

Why not, I guess? Marriage is legally binding, but engagements aren’t. It’s basically a promise ring. Miss Manners wouldn’t approve, but I don’t think there is anything technically wrong with it.
