They had this image posted in last year’s video for the BFR. Add energy(heat) to that reaction, and you get methane and oxygen. Burning methane and oxygen is the opposite, releasing energy and producing water.

The Raptor engine that will power the BFR is a Methane / LOX engine. CH4 burns very cleanly compared to the more common RP1 kerosene rocket fuel and does not produce significant amounts of ozone layer-depleting compounds.

Maybe it’s meant to be so efficient as to pollute less than the 16 hour flights it replaces.
