I think you forgot how bad the PS2 games looked. I’m a big fan of Monster Hunter (wearing a MHX shirt right now) but I can recognize that the real-time shadows and normal mapping on the latest 3DS game is leagues above what they had on the PS2.

Activision’s games were of too high class for their preferences and I guess Gameloft is more their style.

I guess it depends on your gaming habits... I tend to prefer games with lots of replay value. I bought a 3DS for Monster Hunter and a Vita for Project Diva and still start up both systems fairly regularly to play those games.
