For me, the definition of a movie star is when your average person on the street says, “Let’s go see that (actor’s name) movie!”....like “Let’s go see that Tom Cruise movie!”...I love his work, and he’s certainly a recognized personality, but I doubt anyone says “Let’s go see that Samuel L. Jackson movie!”

Some motherfucker’s always tryin’ to ice skate uphill!

Patrick Fischler for Chuck Lorre. Sheen should just play himself.

If the movie business were different right now I wouldn’t care, but there is such a dearth of original films at the scale Spielberg is capable of executing at it almost feels irresponsible to do retreads. I’m sure the Fabelmans is a nice movie but I want another movie like Jaws, Close Encounters, Raiders of the Lost

For someone who has a blank check to make whatever movies he wants to use that power on remaking classics is a waste.

And there’s many doors open to them, and will be unless they are a catastrophic fuck up...and even then.

Yeah, I mean if you know how film financing works, just having a famous last name attached to your project can be the difference between getting funded or not. No one wants to work with a nobody. Everyone wants a somebody.

Lol. Was just about to post it.

Make a Short Round spin-off now that Ke Huy Quan is back in action.

You get a Star War...You get  a Star War...EVERYBODY GETS A STAR WAR!

The people who pay to not be verified pay for those who do. Twitter also makes money from ads and selling their data. I’m sure they’ll do alright.

Elon’s pretense for buying Twitter was to get rid of bots. You do that by incentivizing people to verify their identity. Making the account free if you verified would be a great incentive. Making them pay is going to guarantee NOBODY has a verified account, allowing bots to proliferate further.

If you actually cared about bots, wouldn’t you charge people for NOT being verified?

I want to like this show more than I do. I can’t really complain about its quality. I guess I find it too humorless for my tastes, for Star Wars in particular, but that’s Tony Gilroy’s thing -- dour, grey and humorless people mired in bureaucracy.

Keanu gave a few wooden performances in the mid 90s and became kind of a punch line, but I think that was mostly from bad casting. You don’t put a guy like him in a period movie. Once he got put in the right kind of material he made the most of his limited range.

Lol. After I moved to Canada from the US, people back home would always ask if Canadians really are all nice and polite. I began to respond it’s not that Canadians are nicer, it’s that Americans are bigger assholes.

I didn’t like this. As mentioned, the new ending wasn’t an improvement on the hack ending, and the fourth wall breaking went too far for my tastes. At a certain point, you can break the forth wall so much you lose any tether to reality, stakes or me giving a shit. They pulled a Gremlins 2. I don’t like Gremlins 2

Props to He-Man for being way ahead of the curve with the whole gender pronoun thing.
