As a Colts fan I am very pleased with the timing of this decision.

In 2012 NFL defenses didn't have decent tape on the read option. Once they had a season to figure it out it's not something a team can base their offense around. RG3 can't perform in any other offense and his legs are too banged up to even run the read option effectively anymore. It's damn shame.
