You are correct. Jones was a very underrated player. Could have played in today's game and flourished. Injuries limited his long term success.
Agreed on Marino. There wasn't anything even close to it in that era. To me his 84 season is the greatest performance ever by a QB. Everything post 2004 should have an asterisk.
That's the thing though. The SEC network makes money no matter what because CFB in the south rules. ESPN created the channel because the market was there and will always there no matter the quality that's on the field. It just so happens that the SEC is better. I hate the conference and hate the football factory…
People have been bitching about SEC bias long before the network. I suppose all the NFL teams who draft SEC players more than other conferences are in on the cabal as well?
Both of Indy's lines got whooped last night.
I can't, dude. Your perspective is totally skewed against Manning. Just as his apologists will always blame someone else you will always place the blame on him. It's a pointless exercise. He might as well be 0-30 in the playoffs.
I hear ya. It's perplexing. His career is fascinating to me. I think he may be the best to ever play the position but I wouldn't say he's the greatest because of the post season.
Against the Saints it was 3rd down. If he doesn't throw the hot route he gets immediately sacked out of the back up kickers FG range. Game over. Same result.
Wow. Lots of assumptions there, champ. I never said any of those things. Check your stats on Brady too. He most certainly drops off in the post season. Remember 07?? Elway was a known choker until he wasn't. Fair or not. Montana is admittedly the outlier. Manning gets tons of love and has been on stacked teams several…
Thought you'd say Montana and I'd say he's the outlier. He also never threw for gaudy numbers week in and out. I'm not here to apologize for Manning. The apologists always want to deflect blame but on the flip side his detractors never remember the loads of times he did deliver in big games. Like most topics, the…
Find me a QB who has played in 10+ playoff games that doesn't have a significant statistical drop off in the playoffs.
No. He fucks up SOME of the time. Just like every other great QB.
During my time at WVU in the 90's we would just take the crappiest couch in the house and set it on fire in the side yard. We generally had it picked out at the start of the season just in case there was a win that warranted it. It wasn't a vandalism thing. Just a make shift bonfire coupled with drunken Darwin Award…
He's obviously a playmaker but he's overpriced for what he does. He reportedly can't run the whole route tree and isn't great at gaining separation if the play isn't specifically designed for him. He's a role player that should be a 3-4 mil cap hit. Not 10. Being an asshole doesn't help.
Dickerson was my football hero as a kid. This color scheme will always be superior to me. They didn't change much between 1980 and 1999.
There's clearly something really cool in the field turf that needed a close up. Either that or the cheerleader's butt. My $ is on the field turf.
Boys will be boys. Steal a guy's towel while he's in the shower, tiger balm in the jock strap, ass fisting the freshmen.. wait, what??
Karma to Burn is WV's greatest export. Nineteen has one of the greatest riffs I've ever heard.
Reason #748 I dropped the faith. Contemporary Christian music is unlistenable. Is unlistenable a word? It should be because contemporary Christian music exists and it needs an adjective.
