I'd argue that it's got something to do with his father's last word, which was also "Martha." It's not really about "Superman had parents/a mom named Martha", it's that if he killed Superman he would basically became the man who gunned down his parents, with his victim's last word mirroring that of his father's.

The "bleak"ness of the cinematography actually gave way to specific colors that pop more. I'd even argue that Civil War's cinematography was bleaker than BvS, with every color being so washed out aside from Spider-Man's costume. Just compare Tony's Iron Man suit in that movie to his previous ones, it looked so drab

My feelings towards MoS and BvS aside, Nolan's Batman trilogy certainly wasn't "character-based". Not Bale's Batman character-based, at least. Bale was just there as Batman and Bruce Wayne, looking like he's constipated for three whole movies. Which is a shame since he's a great actor in his other movies. But his

Nah, Agents of SHIELD is already it.

I'd say if you didn't at least enjoy Gotham by the end of Season 2, you wouldn't like it now either. But it's a treat for those of us who can embrace its weirdness and chaos.

I'm really torn. On one hand, I'm glad we're finally, probably, getting a real, honest-to-God Dinah freaking Drake as Black Canary, and I hope she works well with the cast and isn't used sparingly—in their own words, "There's no Green Arrow without Black Canary".

Gotham is indeed a mess but it's a beautiful, confident mess. Anyone still watching will tell you how they genuinely love how mad and fun everything is. Fitting for its namesake, IMO. Certainly not what I expected from the show, but it's what it is.

The Netflix shows are hands down better in terms of production quality, and the prestige feel of the shows and their actors. But the CW/DC shows are still far more enjoyable. Even Gotham is balls-to-the-wall fun. The best is still Agents of SHIELD though!

Well, I'm still very much straight, but I gotta say I now understand the appeal of the middle-aged gentleman type.

And to think this is just the halfway point of the arc! That we know of, at least. But I'm still betting this arc would just be a 6-episode one, with the third and final arc another 8-episode one just like Ghost Rider.

Wow. Who'd have thought the most entertaining comic book shows would be Agents of SHIELD, Legends of Tomorrow, and freaking Gotham? This is a great week all around. Now if Powerless on Thursday also proves to be at least fun…

Seeing what's been on TV for decades, I thought middle aged perverts were the only demographic.

When I read "Jimmy Olsen" in your comment my mind unexpectedly pictured Jeremy Jordan's Winn Schott. It's weird since I also watch Supergirl! I know it's been expressed numerous times before, but Jordan's Winn is ironically probably the nicest, likable version of Jimmy Olsen that we'll ever have.

Tom Cavanagh is one beautiful, beautiful man.

Oh, Walt. You're my kind of mobile.

Agreed, but Agents of SHIELD is no slouch either. It's the best thing to ever comes out of the MCU.

At first I thought this was gonna be in direct contrast to Mark Waid's Archie revival. After seeing this, it honestly doesn't feel that much different, and I'm not complaining. This is the next best thing after a direct adaptation of that series.

Honestly, that wasn't a serious dig at the writer. It just things that actually happen sometimes, especially when a franchise is suddenly being talked about again after an adaptation is released. I was just being a snarky jerk.

"It's been so long since I've read the books" is just code for "I've never read the books but I've read the wiki."

That's supposed to be Curtis, IMO. But clearly Rene is doing a much better job at it, even if he wasn't meant to be the show's Cisco/Winn counterpart.
