I would add Lake Titicaca to this list. It is one of those places that is only really a destination because of a somewhat arbitrary claim to fame, in this case “highest navigable lake”. It is nice enough as lakes go but nowhere near as picturesque as everything else you will see in Peru. Of my travels in South America…
