Wasn’t Batista’s last run during the year of Daniel Bryan? Even if he was a good face, I don’t know if people would have gotten over the idea that he had gone Hollywood and was coming back as a part-timer to be pushed over Bryan.
This is obviously self-serving and wrong, and I am really looking forward to Gruden getting grilled about why the franchise refused to negotiate with Mack, and grilled right up until the final 2020 draft pick that changed hands is used.

You would think at some point the NFL would just allow the Bills, Jets and Dolphins to combine rosters to take on the Pats. I’m still not sure they’d beat them out for the division, but at least it would be more competitive.
