Some of the comments on this post are making my blood run cold. Women can be MAD SHITTY to women who don’t pass their approval bar.

Rehoming the dog with a staff member of the dog’s trainer, who is intimately aware of the dog’s needs and wants to provide an appropriate home is apparently the same as “abandoning” it.

Maybe your problem should be with shelters not telling people that the behavior of the dog might change in some way outside of the shelter. This is a true fact and that’s all i got from the trainer that put in a dramatically different situation a dog will act differently. Maybe he should have hired a publicist to

Hey, you know dogs are all different, much like people, right? Like, I have 2 friends who were victims of domestic violence and they both have come through it in completely different ways. I have friends who were victims of child abuse and guess what? None of them are exactly alike! That happens with dogs too. I’m

“... ‘The dog that we see in the shelter is often not that the dog that we see in the home,’...” he says. ‘And often the dog in the home on day one is different than the dog that we see at the six-month mark.’...”

I grew up on a farm and we ALWAYS had tons of dogs-Mostly because people dropped off dogs thinking “Oh a farm, they can handle it” I can’t even count how many of these dogs had serious, serious issues-one does not like women, one men, one POC, one can’t be touched on the head, one can’t be washed, etc, etc etc. We

“I HAD AN EXPERIENCE AND EVERYONE ELSE’S EXPERIENCE WILL BE IDENTICAL TO TO MINE.”

Yeah? That’s great! My brother and SIL who are THE best dog people you could ever meet, had a dog, Micah, who was fucking insane and launched at people across the room for no reason whatsoever. Dogs aren’t fucking computers you can program. Maybe don’t assume everyone’s experience aligns with yours?

Different dogs will react differently.

There is no straw man in my comments, but I see that we’re not really communicating, so I’ll stop here.

I don’t know the details of this dog, but there are some dogs out there, just like people, who react differently. Some dogs do not get better.

I have all rescues myself. Difficult dogs are not for everybody. And it looks like she wasn’t fit for that dog as much as it wasn’t fit for her. These things happen. And she took the care to re-home it. That’s not irresponsible, in fact quite the opposite.

1. That was my bad. I thought you were saying *I* was the casual once-every-4-years fan.

As a former figure skater...... the judging traditionally has been based on two objective/subjective criterion. It boils down to “what did you do” and “how well did you do it”. This would be similar to floor exercises in gymnastics. How difficult were the elements you performed and how well did you perform those

I get that argument. And, as a former ballet dancer, agree that these activities don’t really qualify as sport. Just not entirely convinced that the difference is because judgment of artistic value/performance is thrown in there.

Here’s the thing though. The artistic merit of the lutz is broken down into technical components as well. Did the skate fully complete the turn, were the arms tight to the body, etc. Subjective or not, there are standards to which these judges are holding the jump. You’re not going to find a judge who thinks a

THANK YOU. Totally agree with you.

Not really. “I’m tired of watching brown men fall in love with white women” as a title itself brings up the point.
“I’m tired of brown creators demean brown women on TV”- that’s a point I can get behind.
This title, and the bend it gives to the title, is (somewhat) demeaning to multiracial people. And it’s not like

No, absolutely not true. Here’s a very simple example: boy and girl children grow at different rates. If the child is a boy, and he is not growing at normal growth curve rates, he probably has something like hypothyroidism, which, if not treated by 2 years of age, leads to brain growth deficiencies. There are

If only more people could distinguish sex from gender.
