Yeah, I imagine she’s been estranged from her family. She spent her childhood telling everyone about this and nothing ever came of it.

I covet that outfit. The skirt is incredible. The boots are incredible. The shirt is incredible. I might swap out the scarf for an extra-long necklace, but I think the gold is a nice touch.
I’m surprised he knows what the Fabian Society is (I think it still exists.) Maybe he’s a fan of George Bernard Shaw. More likely, he probably thinks Fabian Society member H. G. Wells’s “War of the Worlds” actually happened.
I feel like I didn’t make it clear this was sarcasm. I thought the hashtags would tip my hand!
This guy, however, gets it.
This is for the on-the-go Halloween lover who wants the latest costume that says “I’m aware of popular culture, but don’t understand it.” Last year, she was Sexy Eleven.
Oh, but didn’t you hear? It’s not sexual harassment, assault, or rape. It’s misguided romantic overtures.
Well duh, we all know that things aren’t bad unless they’re illegal! Women are required to silently tolerate harassment that stays just on this side of prosecutable behavior.
Then get a smaller fucking phone.
Maybe if Planned Parenthood didn’t contribute to abortion stigma by saying “ONLY 3% of what we do are abortions!” and instead owned and celebrated that all reproductive health services are needed for a healthy and thriving community, there wouldn’t be so much traction for this kind of junk. I used to live in Iowa…
Those conservative white women have the money to get their abortions privately or abroad. They don’t give AF about the unwashed masses that need Planned Parenthood. Also “pro-life” people get abortions just like everyone else. I know because I’ve held their hands during their abortions and then have seen them back out…
When I’m 90 years old and 90% senile, I fully expect to still be saying “Merrick.Fucking.Garland!” any time a Republican says anything about a Supreme Court nomination.
Fuck this offbrand version of a racist demagogue, listening to a real president speak truth to power.
I agree. Criticizing her for what she could have said gets problematic when it seems like she’s being very honest and upfront about her experience and the intense feelings she was experiencing at the time.
Also, why does everything have to be a ‘narrative’ of some sort, and why the fuck does it have to be shared? Is it ever ok to talk about something and it’s just about you and your experience? Not everything has to be an insufferably preachy woke teachable moment that ends up with no one being able to just tell a story…
Welcome to Jezebel where you just can’t ever be woke enough. Do better! (Gag)
It’s also telling that sex workers are cast aside in this narrative. Allen was, as she wrote in her Instagram post, in a “dark time” but now she’s moved on. She doesn’t “do it anymore.” She’s “not proud.” What about those sex workers who helped her in that “dark time” and served as “an outlet”? After all, the fact of…
Well I’m a Brit and he would have been punched in the face for wearing that. Sexual harassment happens (cat calling etc) but our tabloid press is savage when it comes to celebrities accused of sexual misconduct.
If no-one else has mentioned it yet, there are female Welsh Guards. So there may have been a few unflappable women playing the anthem too!
I don’t like Meghan McCain, but this is a great line. “The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great.”
