I hope she's as tough and resilient as she seems to be and is able to grind him under her heel like the nasty insect he is.

I have no doubts whatsoever that she is smart enough to hire another manager, should she feel the need for one. I like her music, and I’m constantly impressed by the things this very young woman says and does, and look forward to what she accomplishes as she further matures ( I’m nearly 3X her age, and I’m not meaning

I think people in general are getting tired of being pestered with GoFundMes. I know I’ve been hounded with 5 of them in the last 3 days. And here comes this one, from a semi-employed couple who can afford a trip to Japan (even a cheap trip to Japan isn’t cheap) asking for 10 times more than the actual medical

I'm thinking of starting a GoFundMe because I like money and I can write a really good sad story.

I’m not understanding what windmills you’re tilting at. The discussion is about women who want abortions, not women who don’t want abortions. No one thinks forced abortion is good. No one wants women who don’t want abortions to have them. It would be better, though, if CPCs stopped lying about abortion; I provided 30

But it did include those women - highly religious Catholics, to name one group. You’re looking for something that isn’t there. There’s no there there.

I’m not making any assumptions. I’m going on numerous, peer-reviewed studies that have continued to find that abortion does not cause distress. Even C. Everett Koop, an anti-abortion activist, was forced to admit this in his study done on behalf of the Reagan administration.

Except the CPCs want you to skip the raising your child part of the journey. There are older, wealthier, and more Christian couples out there who will pay a lot of money for a newborn, and those CPCs will use harsh bullying tactics to make a woman feel inadequate to raise the child they’ve coerced her into carrying

Sure.

It IS a lie. The process of birth is far more traumatic to the woman and the fetus, which can feel pain at full term. It cannot feel anything when the majority of abortions are performed.

Violent to the fetus.

I’m reaching? I don’t lie and call a safe, simple medical procedure “violent” or call it more traumatic than a full term birth.

Get ready for the wall of text!

but they do stress that they believe the most non-violent and least traumatizing choice for the mother is to carry to term.

Not a lot - most. And they treat the women like shit and lie to them constantly, and do anything to get them to not keep their children. See “Shotgun Adoption” in The Nation for an idea of what goes on.

If you want, I can haul out my List of Studies, but in short, there is no link between abortion and any negative mental health sequelae. In the few women who did have problems after their abortion, those women had problems before their abortions and were more likely to be highly religious, and no direct link was found

Life changing? Hell yes. It might have literally saved my life - it was during the pre-procedure screening my kidney disease was first seen, and the doctor told me I should not attempt to carry a pregnancy to term (not that I ever wanted to; I knew I didn’t want children and haven’t changed my mind since I was 9 years

I admit it: after feeling sadness for the women involved, I felt smug because I do my own nails and have never used a salon. Not because I had a suspicion anyone was being exploited but because I’m extremely prone to cellulitis.

Thanks! I’m afraid I’m a bit whinier than usual because some of it acting up, but I’m doing pretty well.

I’m actually disabled, so I really don’t fall into the “healthy” category - but the things that disable me (kidney failure, terrible upper extremity arthritis from hypermobile joints, etc) aren’t “fat diseases.” I am diabetic, but even that was brought on by prescription steroid use. Yet when I park my (sports) car in
