Is this an argument we’re going to have for an entire year until this game comes out? Because it’s going to be a very long year if it is.

Maybe in a fictional story being written in the late 2010s, though, when we live in a stable society with a semblance of equality (a semblance we know is flawed and have a rough idea how to fix), we might be able to represent women as equally competent and important.

Women were there, yes. Were they robbing stagecoaches, getting into saloon brawls, driving cattle, robbing banks, getting into gunfights, robbing trains, or any of the other things people want to do in a western video game?

But I think you’ll agree that RDR2 will most likely not be about gender inequality during that time period and won’t really make any arguments about it one way or the other.

So you are getting offended by a picture? I don’t even... Maybe you should make your own video game western, and make it however the fuck you want. Then those mean men will pay, for uh, making a picture with no chicks in it. Yeah, that’ll show them!

But it’s [current year]!

Remember that time George R. R. Martin whitewashed history when he wrote that story arc about a female knight? What a travesty.

True, your comment did not make sense. Glad we cleared that up. Sorry if I offended you.

Except I highly doubt this game will be an account of actual historical events

Lol, talk about embarrassing reaches. You keep on SJW-ing though, maybe one day you can have an all female western game and whatever else you like. I hope RDR2 is nothing but a sausage party so you and moonbeam can get all mad and cry about it.

Honest depictions are great if you want to roleplay in a setting that disadvantaged and discouraged women.

And making assumptions about the game based on that...yes I know.

Yeah, lets totally rag this advertisement based on assumptions then!

They aren’t played out in the video game industry. That’s why people are so excited for a new Red Dead. There are very few video game westerns, and even fewer good ones.

I am also really right...

It’s not about the genre, but the setting in which the genre exists. The old west (at least the part romanticized in westerns) was not known for its strong female personalities. I’m not saying you couldn’t do it, but I am saying you wouldn’t be making a traditional western if you did.

Now we have a gender score? For a video game’s advertisement, that has literally put out a vague picture of some cowboys, not all of which I can be certain are men (the one just left of the center silhouette looks like it could possibly be female, same with far right silhouette). Either way even if they are all men,

Yeah, cause that image perfectly describes an entire game. Are you really this dumb?

It’s a western. What exactly are you expecting? Not a lot of powerful women in that particular setting.

Considering that’s what you commented about when all that has been announced is the name of the game, yeah I will not give your sj warrioring comment the consideration you think it deserves.
