Gene Hackman is truly unstoppable in this movie.

“dril’s manbabies”

dril is all our father.

That’s a great story. It could be coincidence, but I prefer to think it was the same station.

Oh yeah. The guitar solo on that track absolutely shreds. It’s a fully-realized composition in its own right.

But wait, there’s also “For Johnny”, their instrumental tribute to Johnny Winter, or their cover of “A Night Like This” with James Iha on vocals, or “Starla”.

Favorite Pumpkins song for me will always be “Geek USA”.

Can’t...lift...arm. Or...speak...at...normal...rate.

LORD. PALMERSTON!!!

“Good Lord. Gigantism!”

“Unobtrusive intimacy.”

I’m all for subtlety and nuance in music, but sometimes it’s beyond gratifying when a band goes for the throat from the get-go.

Neatly quaffed is tidily drinking with gusto.

Ben Stiller has always been capable of this kind of performance.

Or, Ted Leo’s solo take on “Since You Been Gone”.

Jawbox’s cover of Tori Amos’s “Cornflake Girl”, which can be found on their self-titled final album, absolutely destroys.

“Bomb Squad meets Royksopp”!

Abandoned Language is where I would recommend you start.

I would toss DALEK into the mix for the sci-if/apocalyptic production vibe.
