I'm pretty late to the party, but I picked up Janelle Monàe's Archandroid some weeks ago and it quickly imposed itself as my favorite pop album of the last decade.

Fuck. Yes.

Whoa, didn't realize it was that pricey. I got it in a 5-game box for $25 some years ago, with Dungeon Keeper 2, Clive Barker's Undying and some Dracula games. Alice is a great game, but probably not worth shelling out $60 for. I'm very surprised they don't have it on Steam.

Ah, an open ending, I like that! Maybe it'll give me the willpower to finish the game :-P

"When my Warden died at the end, I didn't care at all, and that's just not how it should be. "

Is that from a game? It looks quite nice. Not my type of decoration, but it's pretty tasteful as far as these things go.

Actually, I don't think they meant those when they said "surprises", since they mentioned it separately, but it's still a good point, that was a much-needed feature too!

So, Gamespot has their Dragon Age 2 review up.

Hahaha, well truth be told, my first Pokemon game was Red, back when it was released in... 1996 I think? So I'm pretty old-school as far as Pokemon goes too, I just skipped Gold/Silver/Crystal and Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire. Came back in force with the DS games though, and NEVER looking back :-D

Also, not to take anything away from Crusader1025, that's more Kotaku's fault, but this post isn't really about "Why the best games are made by the smallest development teams". Take away the "Why", and that's more like it.

Yes and no. I think having a small development team helps keeping a game coherent. Meaning, every aspect fits naturally with the others. In bigger teams, people don't always talk to each other, so you end up having a game made up of different parts that feel disjointed, not complementing each other. Prime example :

Aaah yeah, I got the last battle spoiled by a friend, I know who it is. I was thinking about finishing Johto, then moving on to Black, but now that you're telling me about this transfer thing... Well, maybe not right away, but I'll definitely finish SoulSilver in the near future, that's too cool to pass up.

Dead Nation patch tonight, adding voice chat and "surprises"!

Well, that's one way to play the game, I guess, but it sounds exceptionally boring. The whole appeal of the series is to "catch 'em all". Even if you don't use them, capture them, for your collection.

I wouldn't know about additional content, but it is indeed confirmed that you get a free download of the PC version when you buy the PS3 version. It seems the obvious choice, really, you get to play the game with a good framerate, and if there's any bonus content that's only available for PC, you'll be able to play it

Demon's Souls is a must, especially at the Greatest Hits price! Don't be discouraged by the difficulty, it doesn't ask for complete mastery so much as cautiousness. It's unlike anything you have played, I can guarantee it.

Finally got Lugia in Pokémon SoulSilver! I wanted to go at it with my regular party, but I had to adopt a more strategic approach. Brought in some heavy hitters with lots of HP (my Gyarados and my Quagsire) to take the most out of its HP, then used my Togetic's Encore to make Lugia use Rain Dance four turns in a row,

Atlus has released some real masterpieces overseas. You should definitely try Persona 3 and Persona 4. They are non-canonical, there's a bit of fan-service but overall the stories are very much their own thing in each game.

It should arrive here on wednesday... It sucks that I have to wait for the shipping (shouldn't have pre-ordered on Amazon this time), but at the same time, I don't have any classes on wednesdays, so it's gonna be POKÉMON ALL DAY, BABY!

It... IT LOOKS LIKE AN ACTUAL SHOP! Not some creepy dude's basement!
