I thought the portrayal of Astrid was waaaaayyyy off in the film. I wonder if they will fix it in the spin off.

I initially read the song title as “The Summer I turned Petty” and I was way more interested.

Honestly, I’m surprised Amar Ramasar isn’t mentioned in this piece. He’s the asshole that got take time off from NYCB to be a principal in West Side Story (the picture above is a reference to him). The whole NYCB culture is trash and should be flushed.

100% this. Best political advertising scam we’ve seen in five years.

Agreed. Power of the Dog was hamfisted and silly. I can’t fathom what people like about it. There are laugh out loud parts that are clearly meant to be “deep”.

Also, these characters don’t dabble in socialism. They are affiliated with the Italian Communist Party and embedded in the story is the critique of PCI’s turn away from traditional class struggle toward democratic socialism and electoralism.

It drives me absolutely bonkers that this series is billed as a tale about female friendship. Yes, there is a friendship at the heart of the story but this is a book about political economy, the intersection of class and gender, the role of violence in resisting violent oppression, communitarianism in the face of

I hated it because the allusions to homosexuality were hamfisted and tedious. It felt like it was made fifty years ago. I can’t fathom how anyone who watched it (rather than had it on in the background while looking at their phone or folding laundry) could have thought it was deep, complex, or even had a plot twist.

For the love of god, no one wants “more slideshows”. We don’t even want the ones that are here.

I wipe my feet on a mat when I come into the house. There’s nothing on the bottom of my shoes when I come into my house. If I’ve stepped in mud or dog shit, I leave my shoes outside and clean them later. I don’t get what people are tracking into their houses on their shoes?

I’m from the center of the country (KS) and now live on the east coast and I have literally never met a person who has a shoe off policy in the US. This is something that shows up on blogs for me, not a real life issue.

Lume smells like rotten yeast before it goes on and it doesn’t get better. I don’t know how people use that stuff. I bought a full set because I was ever so hopeful.

My feet are cold 24/7 for seven months of the year. I usually take my shoes off in my room before bed and put them in my closet. Sometimes I walk around barefoot in the summer (I live in Florida). I sweep my floors two or three times a week and mop once a week or so. I’ve never had an issue with OMG GROSS floors and I

Yes...that was the joke.

I don’t know if it’s cinema or me, but I actively disliked every single one of these movies. Is this a symptom of long-COVID?

I’m absolutely with you on this. I would be shocked to learn that individuals who are introduced to “intimacy” through this sort of behavior will be able to transition to truly interpersonal types of intimacy without serious problems.

YIKES! I don’t even like people who don’t say please to Siri.

This is an impressively stupid response. Colleges should focus on academics. Period.

Defund and disband college athletics—every single one of them at every single level.

Two hours of being hit over the head by some of the most ham-fisted allusions to homosexuality I have ever seen. People who keep saying you have to watch it twice to get its subtlety must have been looking at their phones the first time.
