This is the only truly modern definition of adulthood.

You’ll find that when your kid is asking about whether dragons are real or whether Cinderella is real, it’s really easy to let on the Santa isn’t either (this happened at three for us). They don’t believe Santa is real unless you push it. You wouldn’t pretend Greek myth is real in order to satisfy your child’s

He’s a thousand years old. Of course I’d vote for him over Trump but come the fuck on...he’d be statistically on the verge of death.

It rained at Yale in the Spring Break episode but I think that and the finale might be it.

Yeah, the religious right is way less sanctimonious Han Hollywood...

I had to spend four weeks on the other side of the world for work when my daughter was about a year old. Women at work kept asking me who would watch my daughter and when I would respond, “her father,” they just couldn’t believe I’d trust my lovely little girl to a man. My response was more or less, “why would I have

Just a quick question: Are there any AVClub reviews that are as obsessed with “likeability” as this one?

Chris is garbage. This isn’t a guy that gets grumpy. He’s a guy who abandoned his child and even as an adult can’t pull the minimum amount of weight as a parental figure.

Wow, I pre-emptively liked this post. Yeah, the LADB wasn’t disturbing (I, like Rory would have been annoyed); but, as a college professor, if a student showed up drunk or drinking in my class I would fuck their shit up.

At a site that (generally) recognizes the terrible awfulness of the Nice Guy TM, it’s odd to me that we’re supposed to ship Rory and Marty just because he’s “nice” (even though we know now that he’s not particularly nice). He’s a friend and that’s OK.

I’m trying to imagine how a person who doesn’t understand the importance and excitement of that bench lecture ever made it through this show...As someone who dreamed of going to a University I could never have afforded it rings deeply true to me.

This!

I don’t support the death penalty but cops who abuse their power are a threat to the rule of law and should be punished far more harshly than the general population.

I got to watch my husband play to a packed house with his old band last night and it gave me all the feels. Mostly it made me feel really old but it also made me really proud. It’s not easy to walk back on stage after fifteen years.

Dude, I feel you. Been here since the beginning. I was a starred commenter under 2 different systems, worked my way into the black in the first kinja takeover, and somehow ended up back in the greys after the crazy porn gif disaster era. I have no clue how they make these decisions.

Definitely. I can’t stand AYinL. As far as I’m concerned it’s non-canonical. If I had to take it seriously I wouldn’t be able to watch the previous episodes.

Hundreds of thousands, if you consider Iraqi lives.

I absolutely agree with you.

I agree. I also really loved how Logan matured and when he was disappointing himself and Rory he would turn back to Colin and Finn. The revival was flaming shit. I struggle to think of anything I didn’t furiously hate about it.

Idk. When she comes back from dropping out of Yale, she really seems to have turned things around. Her stint working for the DAR and as editor of the YDN were the first times we really got to see her being competent (not just hear about it) and her move to follow Obama’s primary campaign seemed really hopeful.
