I have a hard time being too upset by this depiction. I suspected I was pregnant because I suddenly couldn’t stomach alcohol and my sense of smell was going haywire.

Gerrymandering has nothing to do with the presidential election unless for some crazy definition-defying reason you think of the electoral college as gerrymandering.
In political science we refer to this as the submerged or shadow state. The middle class are actually the primary beneficiaries of our social spending but it structured in ways that don’t appear as “handouts”.
This is easily the best comment made on this site about this show since it was picked back up by AVClub. I simply can’t read another post about who’s likable or which boyfriend was hotter. The Jeffersonian element of Star’s Hollow rings very true especially when mixed with its nostalgic look at the Town Hall (and…
At the end of the day, I’m not concerned with whether or not my buzz impresses other people. Sometimes I want a flavorful beer and sometimes I want fizzy water that gets me drunk.
Agreed. It was tonally off for Luke’s character, too.
E: Comment moved to where it was intended.
Yes. Spoilers, please.
Those who were opposed were encouraged to boycotte the election.
They didn’t follow the proper procedure for holding a referendum. Opposition boycotts of illegal and/or improper elections is a common practice given the fact that high voter turnout is often used in these cases to indicate (post hoc) the validity of the results.
At the very least, it doesn’t make sense that Lane wouldn’t have given her some real talk. This is definitely the sort of behavior that should have impacted Rory’s golden girl image in the town. It would have been satisfying to see her struggle with that.
Tenured professors at my college teach 5-5 and we’re desperately trying to put off a required summer 2.
We were actually taught as graduate students to avoid working toward or receiving teaching awards because they peg you as insufficiently research-oriented. I won two and work (TT) at a community college and my chair finds it utterly embarrassing that I don’t teach R-1.
Even at the community college level, athletics is given this privilege.
I’m tenure track at a community college and the lowest paid administrator (who has been in that position as long as I’ve been full time) makes three times my salary. If they ever give us back our cost of living raises, by the time I retire (thirty years from now) I still will be making twenty thousand less than her…
Those alumni donations don’t go to faculty and staff pay or benefits. How do you not know that?
“Take a look at banner, citizens” Trump cries. Banner reads: “Incredible the results we have with respect to the loss of life!!”
I’m not trying to paint Frank as the Devil. This thread is about the differences between book Frank and tv Frank. Like it or not, the tv series has chosen to present him very differently than he was presented in the books. As far as Jamie goes, your last bullet point is a stretch. Jamie doesn’t keep Willoughby as a…
Except you already know that’s not how it works. A perfectly satisfactory job is a 5-star job. This isn’t an A/B/C/D/F grade scale. Don’t pretend it is.
It would indicate a level of competence and control that’s almost relaxing.
