But — is it possible that she’s really 20? This isn’t a bad thing, but she is very, very, VERY mature looking.

It’s bad, and then it’s sort of OK, and then it’s bad again. It sounds too standard-pop-ish and Disney-queen-like at first, but that middle part is a bit more interesting.

But calling someone much younger than you are “Mom” is f’ing ridic, which I’m assuming is the joke here.

Oh, crikey. This is not a man/woman thing — they both screwed up in doing their jobs. Read the article — once the fuck up happened, she did not react quickly as she should have. They both did a poor job, period. This isn’t sexism at work, and it would have happened no matter what the sexes of the two accountants were.

Thanks for acknowledging.

I’ll bet your friend didn’t believe you!

My first line in the original post concedes that Gibson is an ass.

He’s a troll, fuggetaboutit.

Sure, but what about when drunks say things they DON’T mean (like my “same father” example)? I’ve also told strangers I loved them when I was drunk. I obviously didn’t mean it.

Sure, I already noted that I think Gibson is an ass. But my point is that you don’t always speak “truth” when you get drunk. I wasn’t actually harboring some secret about my friend and I having the same dad, etc. I was just weirdly drunk and spouting crazy shit that had never even occurred to me before.

I think Mel Gibson is a total racist asshole, but I CAN say from experience that alcohol can sometimes make you say some pretty bizarre shit. I do NOT buy the whole “in vino veritas” sentiment in all cases.

Lol. I am Jewish, and I have witnessed quite a bit of racism and assholery from my own people, thank you.

So far, none of that has happened (that I have seen) but the sniffling.

Yes.

I think he’s going to get “high marks” for this one, though, because he sounds pretty “normal.” It’s a standard speech, nothing crazy, no going on and on about his win, no crowd talk. Just the usual BS.

No, to be fair, it’s always like this. Was like this under Obama, too. These speeches are unbearable because of it.

Yep — even when it was Obama speaking, I could not get through one of these without wanting to just end it all. PLEASE MAKE A RULE AGAINST THE FUCKING CLAPPING!!!!!!!!

That’s how these speeches ALWAYS are. Lots of bullshit clapping that makes the speech THAT MUCH LONGER. I really wish they would institute a “no clapping” rule for all of these, and the SOTU.

Have you ever watched one of these speeches, or a State of the Union address? They are full of vile, horrible, ridiculous applause, no matter who is speaking. This makes them virtually unwatchable.
