For real. She was not a movie star or even a regular working movie actress. This outrage is beyond stupid, but par for the course.

You are wrong about this. River Phoenix was in the ‘94 Oscars In Memoriam. Where did you get that bad information?

I’m with you there. Plays that are just filmed as movies always feel — off. I may be crucified for saying this, but, to me, Fences felt totally off the whole time. It was probably great on stage, but on film, it did not work for me. I know that isn’t the case for others, but as one lowly viewer, that was my experience.

Honestly — I think the cameras/lighting in the room made it look like everyone was holding back tears all night. Then the public projected their own emotions on these shiny eyeballs, which, again, were probably just because of the lighting.

I guess every accusation is legitimate here on Jez...as long as it’s a woman accusing a man.

But how can you even decide who is “gross” or who isn’t? A lot of people in Hollywood are assholes in their private lives — cheaters, abusers, cruel to waiters and other service staff, bad tippers, bad bosses and coworkers, sexual harassers, etc. How can you sit around and separate the “gross” from the “not gross?”

Look, La La Land is not my kind of movie at all, but it is not up to you, me or anyone else to definitively state that it didn’t “deserve” the awards. Obviously, there are a lot of people who thought the movie was fantastic and well-done/directed. Do you work in the industry? Have you acted in or directed a movie? Or

No shit. There is some serious projecting going on here, and it’s so simplistic and ridiculous that it’s almost insulting to Denzel. Chill out, people, it’s a fucking Hollywood awards show.

And Bill Clinton as well? The “feminist” Jez loves to piss all over the women who have accused him of sexual assault, and he settled with Paula Jones for $850,000.

So do you think Bill Clinton sexually assaulted Paula Jones ($850,000 settlement)? And Michael Jackson was an active pedophile? Etc, etc?

One thing was painfully clear though. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway have a serious case of the olds now, and that makes me sad. ☹️

Seriously? No matter what you think of the movie, how the hell do you think most people would handle a moment like that? It was shocking and bizarre — “unpresidented,” if you will.

I thought the complete opposite of Manchester’s score. It (badly) overpowered scenes that would have been much better without it, particularly the one where he is being questioned at the police station following the *tragedy.* It was fucking terrible.

For real. Take a little break and stop writing for a while, dude.

Yeah, but he’s not a Trump fan. And I honestly try not to let any performer’s personal life/beliefs get in the way of my enjoyment of the entertainment they provide. You know how many people I have to just pretend aren’t Scientologists? ;)

You are very bad at making any kind of thoughtful, interesting point.

And Hartman’s McD’s gorging Clinton! Chase’s stumbling Ford! Etc., etc!

I was joking. It obviously didn’t land. :( Back to the comedy drawing board for me!

Hey, now, don’t be dissin’ on Craig T. Nelson! He’s so much more than the start of Coach, and he’s not a Trump fan either, dang it!

What? We’re not dating?
