the fact that someone ‘needs’ an low level part time job is a bigger issue.. pretty much those jobs should be for young people, students, stay at home parents, and retired people... when it comes to things like lunch room assistant or crossing guard or even greeter at a store that should never be seen as ‘taking a job…

also.. Immigrants are some of the hardest working people I have ever encountered on the job.. so I would expect that they give solid service and want to do well.

until recently the ‘older generation’ were largely people who lived though or were born during the Depression and they tended to do what needed to be done.. not get embarrassed by having to work. I expect that Boomers will NOT follow that trend...

I can’t speak to urban fast food.. but SUBURBAN (and you know what that is code for... entitled white people) fast food joints seem to be sub standard places... also noticed I used the word ‘SEEMS” knowing that it’s not universal...

it would be interesting to see that data for disabled people and retires (both groups who also tend to want to do a good job) in urban, suburban and rural area... I would think that serving people you know and live around would be an incentive for those groups to do better on the job as well.

somehow they seem to be interested in tasks that make them money... so there is that...

unless you are serving people you know and it is a job that you want to use as a reference down the line... also more rural areas seem to have a mindset about working hard and those that don’t get a rep that follows them...
