I believe all of the black people already knew. I knew back in the day as a child I had a target on my back for being black...the teachers didn’t hide their dislike for black skin very well. It was pretty much always unfair unless you got blessed with a good teacher that year...that didn’t happen enough.

Original L&O never made the mistake of diving too deeply into the personal lives of the detectives and cast. They were supporting characters to the real protagonists - NYC and the Justice System. There was always enough to give them depth, but that was it.

There’s a channel here where they rotate through Criminal Intent, SVU and the other variations of the show all day and night. It’s the best for when I’m working at home but need some background noise.

I miss old L&O for the “Law” part. Half of every episode was dedicated to lawyering in a dramatic way. With Saem Wattersons dramaric ass eyebrows. I miss that
