I think neither the movie nor Tobey Maguire's take on the role have aged well. My wife and I remembered liking it a lot when we saw it in the theater, but we recently revisited it with our kid and to a person found it draggy, annoying, and generally unimpressive. Alfred Molina is still pretty great in it, though.
