Without a steady schedule, my sleep habits have careened off a cliff. Instead of a steady 10:30-6 sleep schedule, I’m now going to bed at like midnight or even one in the morning. Then I wake up up just early enough to login for work, finish work and then log off and take a two-three hour nap.  Not a sustainable

You say something along the lines of, “Thank you, that was so thoughtful.” No one has to ever get you a gift for any occasion so at the very least you can truthfully be thankful they did that.

Yeah this was not that. Rolling in bonus money for going to the gym three days a week into my salary to make it seem bigger is not providing a ‘total compensation package’ figure. Not only could that benefit disappear but it’s something I might not always be able to accomplish. This place and that guy were both shady

Not if they are getting other kids sick with diseases that could easily have been prevented.

I would really like to hear this argument used more often. These people aren’t going to be swayed by arguments about science or how they’re being selfish and ruining our community’s herd immunity.

But even if vaccines did cause autism, I would rather my child have a small chance of autism than a small chance of death.

Stupid knows no religion or socio economic divide.

But...vaccines are the devil’s milk!

That there thing you described just became my Saturday Morning Project.

Oh my god yes! I meant to mention this so thank you for bringing it up!

Not even remotely. :) Especially if you use food-safe plastic, which you can buy specifically if you want, but the temperatures we’re talking about aren’t high enough to matter here.

My career first began falling apart when this happened to me. I did draw a line in the sand and I paid a huge price for it.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. On average, men feel more qualified than they really are, and women feel less qualified. Maybe a dose of imposter syndrome. They discussed this in a recent episode of the "Should I Worry About This" podcast, episode #13 ("Should I Worry About... Being a Fraud?"). I'll have to

Last year I wanted to get basic cable for the house, so I called Comcast. The concept that I didn't want a DVR and already had internet access was completely inconceivable to them. I eventually gave up and went to the Comcast center in person, and they had me squared away in ten minutes. I told the receptionist she

Let's see do you want the one where staff I fought to get hired turned around and worked behind my back to take my place? With the assistance of another staff member that I mentored and helped train?

How about the one where I ended up testifying against my boss in an unemployment compensation hearing? A snow storm

Couldn't agree more. The man is a waste of carbon and lazy as all hell.

Agreed, this person sounds like a classic narcissist. Unfortunately a lot of hiring folks are like this. They are jaded from all the garbage applicants they get (woefully under-qualified, wasting time), that they can't even bother with someone whose resume isn't an exact, laser-focused facsimile of the position

I gotta say, it's disheartening to read essays like this. It has a certain air of entitlement that makes me question the persons sanity. Really, you expect a resume tailored to your job posting and company, and an interview full of enthusiasm about past jobs, current jobs, and future jobs, with clear, exact job

Wow, I sincerely hope most hiring managers aren't this sanctimonious.
