We should be agitating (I mean full-blown strikes, riots if necessary) for a 4-hour day and a 4 day week. That’s how we got an 8-hour day and a 5 day week, and we now easily have the resources and automation to reduce it further. A 4-hour day (of actual work) plus a commute leaves plenty of time for shopping, cooking,

Yep. If you feel a person is making a false accusation about you, you have every right to defend yourself. That goes for every human being, even if they’re vile pieces of shit or a saint.

Name substitution aside, investigating (and legal discovery) helps the truth emerge. I think Drake did the things she alleged it is going to be hard for it just to buried in court.

If Drake was really being blackmailed or smeared, I’m glad that he’s going to the mat to defend himself. No one should ever be shamed for standing up for themselves if they are being attacked unfairly, even if they are a dweeb like Drake.

I think there is a bigger conversation here worthy of being had on why fun is singularly equated with drinking and partying. I’m just starting to question all the things we label as “cool” considering so many of them are masculine. Binge drinking was once the domain of men, now women have “caught up.” Woo hoo? I think

Is there a difference between the alt-right and Bernie Bros by now after the Portland murders?

“the ultimate form of child abuse.”

My favorite from Philly which had NO media coverage.

We’d do much better connecting with each other first. If the election showed anything, it’s that a lot of parts of the coalition don’t really know the other parts, let alone what those other parts are doing. WE are the majority, we just need to start acting like it.

I’m sure we will hear a similar tear-jerker when the next FLOTUS gives her farewell speech...

Translation: “I want my own safe space, dammit.”

Except the reason that burqas are still worn is because men make women wear burqas... and now there is a class of women that think they should wear a burqa. Not want to wear, should wear. Big difference.

Could be part of it I suppose. At the same time, Obama has a 57% approval rating, the economy is in as good a place as it’s been since before the crisis, including wages beginning to rise. Clinton was part of the establishment, yes, and wanted to largely continue the status quo with incremental progress, yes. And

Man, people sure have a strange way of expressing their economic insecurity.

It’s really nice to hear privileged people acknowledge and own their privilege, and make an effort to see things from other, less privileged viewpoints.

But the idea that an actual con man who has actually shipped jobs overseas is their savior? As opposed to a woman with plenty of good solid plans? Is beyond absurd. These people were conned.

It’s a strange grey area, that lots of people I know who are feminist and very progressive are also very undiscerning in their porn consumption (many not even paying for it). I think the more the issue is talked about (in terms of being ethical, or even just fair to those involved) the better.
