I think Jubilee is definitely too interesting and complex for Ben. For sure. He doesn’t seem like a bad guy but he has his own insecurity issues and he does not come off nearly as smart or funny as Jubilee does. Jubilee was the standout and my favorite by about 10000000000000 percent. BUT I just want to stick up for

This stuff is cute but IMO the backgrounds REALLY aren’t very studio-ghibli like. They have amazing detailed backgrounds which are one of the most unique and well-done aspects of their art IMO. So, his drawings are nice if they’re loosely studio ghibli inspired, but if they’re supposed to look like studio ghibli made

Okay so I’m assuming Brene Brawn is just your username. I really like her, high five, she does awesome research! / In the small chance you are actually Brene Brawn, then substitute “you” for “her”/ “she”. : )

okay, i just want to be clear here, that is not what that quote means.

Editing and reality tv is not real, etc., BUT, he seems like a worse person than any of the Kardashians, to me...

ARGLEBARGLE!

Hopefully they at least got some useful eye-rolling data from you. : )

I haven’t been in a situation that I think would rise to the level of assault, but I have been in a very uncomfortable sexual/ relationship situation, and I did exactly this... trying to normalize weird shit* happening and vacillating between mean, contemptuous, nice, sweet, acting like nothing was wrong, etc.

This is the part that kills me. Like, yes, I hate the sexism, but the arrogance to take it that one step further to a specific weight range, based on absolutely no knowledge of a woman’s body... AHHHH rage inducing.

I agree with you in general, but it sounds like, in this situation specifically, they interviewed her as NYPD one day and assaulted her the next, while still using terms like “victim” in the same ways they would have been using them the day before. So the city claiming “they (didn’t) invoke the authority of the NYPD

LOL starred for the room <3

Todd Kraines was the most humanizing thing any of them have ever done on that show.

I agree with you about this, about how he shouldn’t be ashamed, and about Kanye’s fragile ego, but I really don’t read Amber Rose’s tweet as sex-positive. At all. To me, it sounds like she knew he and other people (and maybe but not necessarily her as well) would consider the act un-manly at least and gay at worst,

i don’t think this is a subj/ verb agreement issue, but that he is not using downward entailment? that is, using “never” should cause him to use “anyone”, as in, “we’ve never shot anyone yet” which you cannot use without the negation of never - “we’ve shot anyone yet” is not a good sentence because of downward

Cool.

Not denying your experience, I totally believe you, but personally, the place I encountered the most street harassment was Italy, by (I think) Italians.

I think the difference in violence you’re talking about is a good example of how patriarchal culture hurts women AND men - women are taught one set of behaviours, which does not generally lead to taking over federal buildings, hoarding guns, being aggressive, etc., and men are taught another set, which does increase

Agreed. Being a paid artist is hard, but the odds are still better than being an astronaut or president.

I went to an arts school for classical music performance and then MIT and graduated a year early with an extremely good GPA.
