I think you're totally right, in the sense that this value has become more prevalent in our communal moral compass, but I don't know if that means people are getting any better or worse.

Yeah, I think that's a good point, in that perhaps/ probably cultural morality* has improved**. (*Meaning the commonly accepted moral values and actions? Ish?)
