I started watching GOT when it came out but got bored at about Season 4? I gave up and watched sporadically until the end. I am happy that I didn’t waste my time because the show’s ending was such a disappointment that I would have been cross if I’d invested more of my time watching it.

I think he needed a hip replacement if I am remembering the reporting correctly.  He might have been afraid of doing the surgery.  I know there are people who are terrified of surgery, especially if he hadn’t any major medical concerns in their lives something as simple as a hip replacement which is a pretty routine…

GOT was basically making HBO a mint before it ended.  They are trying to capture lightning in a bottle once again because they do have good shows on but none of them have GOT’s cachet.  

I think he needed surgery but wouldn’t do it because he was a Jehovah’s Witness and they can’t take blood donations or some such thing. I think it’s sad because I know people have justifiable fear of surgery but it might have saved his life.
