BECAUSE GUNS ARE BAD AND THEY KILL PEOPLE!

Yep, the cop was acting appropriately for the situation at hand. The car was pointed right at them after they got hit. If he hit the gas at that point it could have killed someone. His actions were either intentionally dangerous or grossly negligent, and still dangerous. Note that the officer kept his trigger finger

Spears told WGHP he turned the car around to pull up and have a talk with Walker, and that he had no intention of hitting Walker’s car—his steering was broken after all of the contact, he said, and he hadn’t seen Walker get out of the car before he tried to pull up.

your car is a deadly weapon, the driver had just used it to hit another car, I am 100% okay with the police officer drawing his weapon on the driver of the car.

Based on the sales numbers, yes; obviously the majority likes the look

Just like Porsche’s design team...

Not bull. A binding legal obligation to the shareholders of a public company.

But life is more fun if you anthropomorphize everything.

Right, but a BEV takes much longer to charge than it takes an FCV to refuel. They both have their own niches. Commuter cars that have garages are a good application for BEVs. Cars that live outside and vehicles requiring frequent and fast refills (such as short haul trucks) are a good application for FC tech.

Come one come all! Its that time again when we have our 5 minute Everything-is-horrible-we-are-all-going-to-die-even-though-we-all-died-last-week article. The highlights this week are:

Throw in another hydrogen tank and boom....

because you idiots call it global warming! it’s climate change, use the correct term and people won’t have an argument against it! Global warming implies that it’s inherently warmer year round, which it’s not. Climate change means it may be warmer, or may be colder than normal, due to aggressive fluctuations in

Cleaner, actually. It doesn’t rely as much on mining rare/conflict minerals as large scale battery production.

Why not? Seems just as clean as electric without the terrible battery disposal and manufacturing problem.

In the context of a short-haul/in town shipping route, FCVs make perfect sense. Refilling a compressed gas tank takes way less time than a diesel tank and orders of magnitude less time than charging a battery. It could easily be done while loading or unloading cargo; as far as required infrastructure to make the

You cannot fault the management of a public corporation for acting in the best interest of their shareholders. Full stop. Even if the CEOs of the auto industry had personal convictions about pollution, they are bound by their duty to the board of directors and ultimately the shareholders.

But but but the incumbent car manufacturers are the poor victims in all this and Elon Musk and Tesla’s ABHORRENT behavior is to blame. They don’t sell replacement parts! They have a tent where they are manufacturing things!

Tweets!

This is why countertrolling all the Tesla shorters/astroturfers/haters is completely

It is very, VERY misleading to act like the auto industry “did nothing” about emissions. The difference in vehicle emissions from 1979 to 1989 is astonishing, and the amount of money and time that was spent on R&D was incredible. Only someone ignorant would claim they “did nothing”.

While I feel that rolling back the fuel economy standards is a very bad idea, I also realize auto makers were never going to achieve this. Only 2 cars(Prius, Ioniq) have achieved this, and only 1 more(camry hybrid) is within 5mpg.
