My Tacoma has dragged stuff all over the mountains with no issues with the rear drums. We swapped discs onto my friend’s 4Runner and it basically feels the same.

Don’t get me wrong, I still would prefer disks, but I would never avoid a car or question its performance due to drum brakes

I hate maintaining drum brakes (I have them on the rear of both of my vehicles) but at the end of the day they have a great service life and aparently resist brake fade and warping better. Its not a sports car so I have never been concerned about the brakes
